Michael F. Angelo is the Chief Security Architect for NetIQ at CyberRes, a Micro Focus line of business. He is responsible for the definition of the secure development process, certifications, and intellectual property protection. Formerly he was a Security Architect at Microsoft and a Staff Fellow at both HP and Compaq. One key accomplishment was establishing industry standards such as the Trusted Computing Group (TCG).

Michael is active in the security community with and participates in a number of international and national advisory councils. Currently he is technology contributor to the US Department of Commerce Information Systems Technical Advisory Council (ISTAC) and is the co-chair of a working group that is looking to change the current encryption export regulations.

Michael currently holds 66 patents, with the majority being in the area of security and authentication. He is also a former Sigma-Xi distinguished lecturer as well as a named Inventor of the Year for the City of Houston. Finally he is an ISSA Fellow, is named to the ISSA Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in security, has been the chair of the former ISSA International Webinar series for the past decade, and has a TCPA lifetime achievement award for his work on pre-boot validation and authentication.
